Each year, the Canadian Poultry Research Council (CPRC) puts out a call for proposals for new research projects on priorities selected by Chicken Farmers of Canada and its other members. A total of 26 letters of intent (LOIs) were received following CPRC’s call earlier this year. Researchers were invited to submit proposals addressing one of the following three categories: food safety, poultry health & welfare, and productivity & sustainability. The LOIs will be reviewed at the next CPRC Board meeting in March 2024 to select those to undergo scientific peer review.
CFC, along with the other national poultry groups, is a founding member of CPRC. CPRC supports poultry research in Canada and the training of highly qualified people for Canada’s poultry sector.
