Chicken Farmers of Canada Cheers Canada’s Swimmers and Unveils New SquishPeep Mascots for the Paris Games!

May 23, 2024 (OTTAWA) —

As the countdown to the summer begins, Chicken Farmers of Canada sends congratulations to the outstanding athletes selected for Team Canada’s swimming team. Their persistence, tenacity, and great talent have won them a rightful position on this prestigious stage.

In addition to celebrating our national athletes’ achievements, we are pleased to celebrate our past ten years of partnership with Swimming Canada, understanding the critical importance that a healthy diet plays in sports success.

Just in time for the recent Olympic and Paralympic Swimming Trials, presented by Bell, Chicken Farmers of Canada and Swimming Canada are pleased to introduce two adorable SquishPeep characters: Kat and Ms Distance. These lovable mascots capture the essence of athleticism, determination, and camaraderie that define our Canadian athletes.

Designed in partnership with the public through the “Design the Next SquishPeep” initiative, these two new SquishPeep are the latest iteration of our friendly chicken mascots known as the “Pool Peeps” embodying the spirit of creativity and inclusivity. Kat was inspired by Katarina Roxon, a five-time Paralympian including a member of the 2024 Paralympic team, whereas Ms Distance was designed by Leanna Morgans, a junior swimmer. The public selected her design through an Instagram poll competition!

Chicken Farmers of Canada invites Canadians from coast to coast to join us in supporting Canada’s swimmers, and recognizing how Canadian chicken farmers fuel our athletes, delivering a nutritious, delicious, and sustainable protein source for all Canadians.
